ONLINE APPLICATION FOR GETTING A NEW PAN CARD
PAN can be used as a ID proof while applying for different government services. This information will tell you how to get PAN Card online. This information is for Indian citizens residing in India.
As per provisions of Section 272 B of the Income Tax Act., 1961, anyone possessing more than one PAN a penalty of Rs. 10,000 can be levied.

Step- I – Registration

· You will get temporary token number and this will be sent on your registered e-mail ID. Incomplete applications can be saved using save draft option at the top right corner and can filled afterwards by login using temporary token number.
· Click continue with PAN online Application Form
· You have to select the method to submit the documents
a. Submit digitally through e-KYC & e-sign (paperless)
b. Submit scanned images through e-sign
c. Forward application documents physically
First option is easiest if you have ADHAR card and ADHAR Registered mobile number.
· Whether Physical PAN Card required?
a. Click yes and you will have to pay only Rs. 101 as a processing fee
and it will get delivered to your registered address.
· Fill all the required information
a. ADHAR Number or EID number.
b. Select YES/NO if you want same photo as on ADHAR Card.

· Documents submitted as Proof of Identity (POI), Proof of Address (POA) and Proof of Date of Birth (DOB)*
a. This will appear automatic as you have selected it earlier.
· Declaration
a. Finally you have to declare the correctness of the information
b. Here you select Himself/Herself
c. Place Date
IF you have selected Scanned based - Aadhaar based e-Sign you need to upload the documents.
· Submit
a. Before submitting you can review all the information and if you want you can change.
b. After submitting you can’t edit anything so take care.
Step-III – Document Submission

a. Physical Submission
Applicant has to print the successfully generated application form, affix recent color photographs and duly sign in the space provided & forward along with prescribed supporting documents to NSDL e-Gov address.

c. AADHAR based e-KYC
All details will be taken from Aadhar card (Name, Date of birth, Gender, Residential Address, E-mail ID, Mobile Number & Photograph) and forwarded to Income Tax Department for allotment of PAN. All these fields are non-editable. The photograph used in Aadhaar card would be used in PAN card. No need of uploading any documents and forwarding the form to NSDL. PAN Card will be dispatched to the registered address.
d. Scanned based - Aadhaar based e-Sign
Here we need to upload photo, signature and supporting documents while doing data entry of application. Here also Aadhaar will be taken as supporting document. No need to send PAN application form and supporting document to NSDL.
However, following documents will be required to be forwarded in physical form to NSDL e-Gov address.
§ Certificate of identity in Original signed by a Member of Parliament or Member of Legislative Assembly or Municipal Councilor or a Gazetted officer
§ Bank certificate in Original on letter head from the branch,
§ Employer certificate in original
Step-IV – Payment
· If Physical PAN Card is required
· If Physical PAN Card is not required
a. The payment can be made through credit card/debit card/Net banking / Demand Draft payable at Mumbai (drawn in favour of 'NSDL – PAN). Name of the applicant and the acknowledgment number should be mentioned on the reverse of the demand draft.
b. However, if online application is made through e-KYC & e-Sign paperless application/ e-Sign scanned based/ DSC scanned based option (i.e., other than physical mode), then the payment can be made only through Credit Card/Debit Card or Net banking. On successful credit card / debit card / net banking payment, acknowledgment will be displayed.
c. Once payment is confirmed an acknowledgment screen with download button will be displayed. You will get an E-mail also on the registered E-mail ID.
d. Please save this acknowledgment for future correspondence.
